More than 600 people Step It Up for Clearbrook to help thousands

More than 600 people took to the trail, sidewalk or treadmill to Step It Up for Clearbrook Sept. 26. Clearbrook's annual 5K run or one-mile walk took place virtually this year due to the pandemic.

Clearbrook is essential to the lives of an at-risk population. They empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to embrace their potential.

The Arlington Heights-based nonprofit is one of the only organizations to deliver services in a multifaceted way, covering all ages, issues and levels of severity. Each step taken on Sept. 26 helped more than 8,000 individuals live their fullest possible.

Thank you to the sponsors who made this event possible, including: TerSera Therapeutics, Enterprise, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Gallagher, Mainstay/My25, RE/MAX Suburban's Sue Tharp, LittleWins, Dugan & Lopatka, CPAs, Heartland Bank, and The Health Insurance Mart.

Step It Up for Clearbrook is one of the organization's largest fundraising events, bringing in more than $60,000 this year alone. Clearbrook still has a long way to go to lessen the impact of COVID-19. Since the pandemic began, Clearbrook has spent $1.3 million on keeping individuals and staff safe, healthy and prepared.
