Arranmore delights with flatbed concert series

Situated on 300 pristine acres in Oswego, Arranmore Farm + Polo Club is Chicago's premier outdoor event venue. This stunning blank canvas can easily transform to accommodate international polo games, unique concert experiences, one-of-a-kind weddings, festivals and private events.

Wine Down Wednesdays is typically one of the most popular events held at the club July through September. It's the ultimate polo BYOB tailgating experience, where Arranmore opens a late afternoon match to the public. Families bring blankets, folding tables and chairs and enjoy a picnic while taking in a spirited match.

Select Wine Down Wednesdays have been paired with the "Flatbed Concert Series," brought to the community by Gerald Ford of North Aurora. It's a wonderful opportunity for favorite musicians from the Arranmore family to keep the party going once the match has finished with a special set of up-close and personal jams, from a super cool stage, set in the back of a beautiful Gerald pickup truck.

The Flatbed Concert series was such a hit in 2019 that Arranmore couldn't wait to develop a new lineup for 2020. While select public events like Sunset Yoga were able to continue during COVID-19, the regularly scheduled concert series was not. Despite the setback, Gerald Ford of North Aurora and Arranmore were determined to find a way to keep the tradition going. In late August, they pivoted and hosted a private event for 50 guests, which allowed people to partake in the festivities and music in a safe and socially distanced environment.

"We're grateful to Gerald for pivoting and finding a way to still have a flatbed concert in a safe manner," said Shannon Greene Robb, president of Arranmore Farm + Polo Club. "We truly appreciate them continuing to find ways to support the community during this time."

While the club wished they could have hosted more Flatbed Concerts this year, they hope to welcome the public back to these events in 2021.
