Arden Courts of Geneva celebrates 20th anniversary by joining Fox Valley Walk to End Alzheimer's Sept. 26

In the month of September, Arden Courts Memory Care Community-Geneva is celebrating their 20th anniversary of serving the Fox Valley area.

Arden Courts of Geneva is planning on celebrating this year by supporting the Fox Valley Walk to End Alzheimer's Virtual Walk on Saturday, Sept. 26. For more information or to make a donation, visit act.alz.org/goto/ardencourts-geneva.

The community offers memory care for individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

The first Arden Courts Memory Care Community was built in 1994 in Potomac, Maryland after five years of research and planning.

"Arden Courts is set out to specifically design an environment which could provide quality of life for persons living with Alzheimer's disease and related forms of dementia. They receive the specialized care without sacrificing their independence," says Justine Villaruz, Memory Care Advisor.

Since building that first location in 1994, Arden Courts has opened 52 memory care communities located in 11 states. Originally designed for a resident population of persons living in the early to middle stages of dementia, Arden Courts has adapted dementia caregiving techniques for all stages of Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, Lewy body disease, vascular disease, frontotemporal degeneration, early-onset dementia and other forms of dementia.

Arden Courts now has increased their clinical staff, increased the number and types of programming, as well as changed the food and dining protocol to maximize self-function and independence for residents.

Arden Courts, located at 2388 Bricher Road in Geneva, is part of ProMedica, a mission-based, nonprofit integrated health care organization which includes a network of 13 hospitals, 2,600 physicians, a health plan, 400 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, memory care communities, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, home health and hospice agencies. Driven by its mission to improve health and well-being, ProMedica has been nationally recognized for its advocacy programs and efforts to address social determinants of health.
