Colette Plantz Honored With Dedicated To Excellence Award

The Des Plaines Park District presented the Dedicated to Excellence Award to Colette Plantz at the August 18, 2020 Park Board meeting.

Plantz has been with the district since August, 2014. As Public Relations Coordinator she is responsible for photography of recreation programs and events, promotional flyers and posters, and social media posts. Her photos can be seen enhancing all of the park district facilities. "Her open approach to new ideas and methods for delivering the district message has made her an essential member of the park district team since the day she came on board," said Joe Weber, Superintendent of Recreation.

Plantz holds a degree in Journalism from New Mexico State University. Prior to her job with the park district she worked in marketing and communications for a privately owned physical therapy clinic. Plantz has lived in the community for over 35 years and has five children. Her kids were "Park District" kids and she spent many seasons volunteering as a youth sports league coach. "I am proud to be a member of this community and feel privileged to be able to serve the Des Plaines Park District community," said Plantz upon receiving this recognition.

The Dedicated to Excellence Award is presented three times a year to employees who have made a positive contribution to the Park District. Potential recipients are nominated by Park District staff members, and evaluated by the Employee Relations Committee and Administrators for creativity, responsibility, community relations, and customer service.
