Out & About-DuPage/Fox Valley: BBQ, movies, music and more this weekend

Music in Mundy Park:

8 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, weather permitting, at Mundy Park, 21-23 S. Broadway, Aurora. Fox Valley Music Foundation and The Venue welcome American blues guitarist "Studebaker John" Grimaldi. Bring a bag chair or blankets. Advance general admission tickets $10. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the indoor stage. Kiwanis BBQ:

4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, in front of Russo Power Equipment, Royal Boulevard and Randall Road, Elgin. The Kiwanis Club of Elgin's 61st annual chicken and pork chop BBQ dinner will be pickup only this year; no dining on-site. $15 with all the fixings. Tickets can be purchased from any Kiwanis member or at elgin.kiwanisone.org.

Bird Walks:

8 to 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21 to Sept. 4, at Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve, 3609 Spring Road in Oak Brook. Ages 18 and up can join a 90-minute naturalist-led observational walk to see how the diversity of birds changes through summer. Bring a face mask to wear it if there's less than 6 feet between you and other hikers. $5 per person. Register online at dupageforest.org or at (630) 850-8110.

A Night at the Movies:

8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Rotary Hill, 443 Aurora Ave., Naperville. Naperville Park District's outdoor movie series continues with "Wonder." The last movie of the season, "Captain Marvel," will move to the 95th Street Community Plaza, 3109 Cedar Glade Drive, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11. Fun Fridays:

11 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 21, at the Shell in Reed Keppler Park, 201 W. Farm tours:

1 to 4 p.m. Sundays and Wednesdays at Garfield Farm Museum, 3N016 Garfield Road, Campton Hills. Tour the historic farmstead, including the barnyard and 1846 brick tavern in these summer drop-in tours; also available year-round by appointment. Cost is $4 or $3 for children. Visit garfieldfarm.org.
