Oakton to launch new cannabis certificate programs this fall

Oakton is introducing new certificate programs this fall, including the Production Technician Certificate, Programmable Controllers (PLC/PAC) Technician Certificate and Cannabis Transportation, Logistics and Supply Chain Management Certificate.

Classes start Aug. 24 and students can register online.

The Production Technician Certificate (nine semester credit hours) offers credentials for entry-level manufacturing production workers. The PLC/PAC Technician Certificate (15 semester credit hours) trains students for challenging yet highly rewarding opportunities in the modern automation/mechatronics field.

The Cannabis Transportation, Logistics and Supply Chain Management Certificate (14 semester credit hours) prepares transporters to apply state laws and regulations to securely transport and track cannabis.

All online classes will be offered at the in-district tuition rate to all students regardless of residence. Due to COVID-19, most fall classes will be offered online. Some lab courses will take place on campus with increased social distancing and safety precautions.
