Author Allie Pleiter to Lead Free Writing Workshop on Zoom

Writers of all skill levels are invited to participate in the "Creating a Series" writing workshop from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 14, on Zoom. This free workshop, led by author and speaker Allie Pleiter, will take place during the monthly meeting of the Chicago chapter of the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW-Chicago). Attend the meeting using this Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87646632196?pwd=a2hRZUxYMHRrek1PQ2dMT1lPNDJ6QT09

The link can also be found on the Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages of ACFW-Chicago.

"Readers love a series. Both indie authors and publishers know that a well-connected series can gain loyal fans and increase sales," Pleiter said. "Series also create opportunities for those 'extras' that can serve as lead magnets, giveaways, fan bonuses and promotional tools."

A bestselling author of more than 50 books including six series for both traditional and independent publishing, Pleiter will share the secrets of crafting a great series. Whether writers are proposing to a publisher or building their indie career, they'll come away with tactics to succeed well beyond one book.

Writers of all genres of clean fiction are welcome to attend, and visitors may attend twice before deciding whether to join ACFW-Chicago. Meetings are held on the second Friday of each month and will continue on Zoom until gatherings are allowed to take place in person. Members participate in workshops, hear presentations from editors and award-winning authors, and network with other writers. Topics highlight various aspects of writing, editing and getting published. Critique nights are held several times throughout the year.
