Elgin's Second Baptist celebrates 154 years July 26

Join the Second Baptist Church of Elgin, 1280 Summit St., in celebration of 154 years of service to God.

Founded in 1866 by 125 escaped slaves from Franklin County, Alabama, Second Baptist Church has been a beacon in the Northwest suburbs.

On Sunday, July 26, the church will celebrate its 154th anniversary at 10 a.m.

Second Baptist Church of Elgin has worked diligently within federal, state, and local guidelines to maintain safety for our church membership during the novel coronavirus COVID-19 epidemic.

Our worship services conform to governmental safe distance guidelines, hand sanitizer stations are readily available, and a mask is required while in the church building.
