Mental Health Resource League announces cancellation of Fall Diddley 2020

With deep sadness and heavy hearts, the Mental Health Resource League of McHenry County announces the cancellation of this year's 35th annual Fall Diddley event scheduled for the Boone County Fairgrounds on the weekend of Oct. 10-11, 2020.

Due to the health concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, the League felt that they could not safely protect the health of the crafters, volunteers, and the public at large. League members understand that this will be a big disappointment for all those who have attended the event over the past 35 years. This decision was not taken lightly.

After conferring with the Boone County Health Department and realizing the significance of the Centers for Disease Control protocols that would need to be enforced, the board of directors agreed that holding this year's event was not possible.

The League relies on both the Fair Diddley and Fall Diddley events for raising grant money that ultimately gets allocated to 16 mental health related agencies in McHenry County.

With the loss of both shows this year due to the pandemic, the loss of revenue is not only detrimental to the league - but devastating to those agencies that we would normally fund from its proceeds.
