Child's Voice to host its first 'Remote Golf Outing'

Golf anytime between Sept. 9 and 27 during the "Golf Hear and There for Child's Voice Remote Golf Outing."

While Child's Voice cannot hold its annual golf outing in person this year, the event will allow supporters to still help kids with hearing loss learn to listen and speak.

"While we will miss the annual day of golf with Child's Voice families, alumni, and supporters, the remote event will allow many more people to play and donate on their schedule," said event committee chairpersons Katie and Mike Schroeder, who are also parents of two Child's Voice students. "We are very excited about remote golf and about joining together to help children with hearing loss succeed."

Remote golf is fun and flexible and allows participants to choose when, where, and how to golf - 18 holes! Video golf! Backyard putting! 9 holes! Driving range!

Just make a donation, and send Child's Voice a photo or video of your play.

Register online now at childsvoice.org. Sponsorships are also available.

An online auction will allow participants to bid on items and experiences during the duration of this event.

Visit the Child's Voice website at www.childsvoice.org or www.facebook.com/childsvoice/ for special messages from Child's Voice alumni and more announcements about the golf outing.

Child's Voice, based in Wood Dale and the Roscoe Village neighborhood in Chicago, helps children with hearing loss learn to listen and to speak.

Students wear hearing aids and/or cochlear implants, and programs use a child-focused, research-based curriculum, all with the end goal of transitioning graduates back to their neighborhood schools.

The Child's Voice program serves nearly 400 children and their families each year.
