Maryville holds 1st free golf clinic for youth at Marquette Park Golf Course July 21

Maryville's Catholic Youth Organization program will launch its first golf event for youth 18 and under. The free golf clinic will be held at Marquette Park Golf Course Driving Range on Tuesday, July 21, from 2 to 7 p.m.

The event is designed to introduce golf to children who may not have played before or encourage more participation from children who do not get the chance to play as often as they would like to.

"Golf offers a chance for children to learn and play a sport for the rest of their lives, not just while they're young. Not every child is interested in basketball, football or baseball," said Kim Williams, CYO recreational coordinator. "We want to provide opportunities for kids to experience different sports so they can find something they can truly enjoy."

Registration is required at www.maryvilleacademy.org/event/.

Parents or guardians are required to print and fill out a waiver form and bring it with them on July 21. The waiver form can be accessed by visiting www.maryvilleacademy.org.

Deadline for registration is Thursday, July 16. The golf course is at 6700 S. Kedzie Ave., Chicago.
