Elmhurst offers update on pedestrian/bike plan

The city of Elmhurst recently offered an update on the "Elmhurst Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan."

The preliminary recommendations for the Elmhurst Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan can now be viewed in a PDF report format via the city's website, www.elmhurst.org, or accessed from the project website: BikeWalkElmhurst.com.

The report provides an overview of the draft recommendations, including bicycle and pedestrian design ideas for streets and intersections all over the city.

It includes maps, concept designs, example photos, and text that explains the recommendations.

Next steps for the plan, including a link to the online survey and project timeline, are in the last section of the PDF report.

The PDF can be viewed in a browser, downloaded or printed on letter-sized paper.

This same information is also available as an interactive story map on the city's website and was presented at a virtual open house webinar on May 27. A recording of the open house can be accessed on the project website and on the city's YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/user/elmhursttv.

The PDF report was created to encourage community members who may be more comfortable with this alternative format to view and share their thoughts on the recommendations. Feedback gained during this stage of the project will be critical in revising the draft plan. If you already had success viewing the Story Map and taking the online survey either in May or early June, the information has not changed and your input has been recorded.
