Kane Kendall Council of Mayors taking public feedback on transportation projects

The Kane Kendall Council of Mayors, with assistance from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, is seeking public input on a proposed new five-year infrastructure program.

Suggested projects covered under the Surface Transportation Program, which spans federal fiscal years 2021 through 2025, include maintenance, modernization and expansion of the region's highways, bikeways, pedestrian and transit systems.

Aurora, Batavia, Elgin and St. Charles are among the communities in the region seeking improvements.

The council will accept public comment from residents and stakeholders through June 30.

People interested in sharing feedback can email Regional Planning Liaison Ryan Peterson at petersonryan@co.kane.il.us.

A list of draft programs is available on the Kane Kendall Council of Mayors' website at www.kkcom.org.

Kane Kendall Council of Mayors is one of 11 subregional organizations in the Chicago area that select projects covering millions of dollars in federal funds for transportation and other quality-of-life improvements under the Surface Transportation Program.
