Northwest Suburban Woman's Club donates sweet treats to the Hanover Township Food Pantry

Due to the pandemic, the Northwest Suburban Woman's Club has learned how to be creative when doing community projects within the Illinois Covid-19 guidelines.

A member found the Leslie Goddard "Betty Crocker Story" on Youtube. Members watched the program and then held a discussion on ZOOM. A week before and after the on-line event, members dropped off boxes of cake, cookie, brownie, cheesecake, muffin and frosting mixes on the porch of a member.

Two members took the donated items to the Hanover Township Food Pantry. This food pantry provides services for over 250 families in the area. Corey Drew/Hanover Township Human Services was delighted with the mixes.

"We usually receive staple items." she said. "It's wonderful that we can offer our clients a treat. A pan of freshly baked brownies can be very comforting."
