McHenry County Conservation District hosts fishing webinar May 27

Have you ever wanted to fish district waters but don't know where to start? Or are you an experienced angler who wants to learn more about fish habitat and behavior?

Join McHenry County Conservation District for a "Fishing the District" webinar from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, on Zoom.

Three expert panelists will discuss different aspects of fishing conservation district waters, followed by time for your questions.

Panelists are: Gabriel Powers, Natural Resources Project Coordinator; Dave Kranz, Owner of Dave's Bait, Tackle and Taxidermy, and former McHenry County Conservation District Board President; and Dan Hibbeler, Conservation Officer.

Learn how the Natural Resources Department works to restore and manage the fisheries as well as where fish are stocked from project coordinator Gabriel Powers.

Hear from Dave Kranz of Dave's Bait, Tackle and Taxidermy about fishing district sites, and how to target different species.

Lastly, learn from Conservation Officer Dan Hibbeler about rules and regulations, and how the conservation district is introducing families and kids to fishing.
