Palatine Township Assessor Accepting 2020 Property Tax Appeals

The Palatine Township Assessor's Office is now accepting 2020 property tax appeals. This appeal would be reflected on the 2020 second installment tax bill (payable in 2021) and the deadline to file is June 10, 2020.

"We invite all Palatine Township property owners to take advantage of this opportunity to file an appeal. While the Township is closed due to the stay at home order, there are a few ways our office can help to complete the appeal process," said Palatine Township Assessor Terry Kelly.

Three Ways to File an Appeal

The Palatine Township Assessor's Office can file the appeal online on behalf of property owners, and the Cook County Assessor's Office will send an appeal confirmation via email. Please email dgamboa@palatinetownship-il.gov and provide the name, address, phone number and email address where the confirmation email should be sent.

Alternatively, property owners can obtain an appeal form at Palatine Township's main entrance, 721 S. Quentin Road in Palatine, where a drop box is located to submit the form. Like the first option, the Palatine Township Assessor's Office will file the appeal online and an email confirmation will be sent to the property owner's email address. A PIN# is not necessary to complete the form, but the name, address, phone number and email must be provided and clearly printed.

A final option is for property owners to visit the Cook County Assessor's website at cookcountyassessor.com/online-appeals and follow the instructions on how to file the appeal online.

For any questions, please call the Palatine Township Assessor's Office at (847) 358-6164.
