Hometown Heroes

With all these wonderful stories, I wanted to share one more that hopefully shows how 2 very unlikely NYC-based businesses are working to feed Americans all over the country - in hopes to inspire other companies to continue to be creative during this precarious time for Chicago and the rest of the U.S.

In less than 30 days, GoGo squeeZ's squeez 10 female squad members in their local communities (large metros including NYC, LA, San Fran, Dallas, Tampa and Chicagoland Move for Hunger have quickly and effectively shared close to 500,000 healthy snacks (with another 500,000 planned by the end of April) across the US to the front lines of those affected most during the COVID-19 crisis to more than 400 organizations - ranging from hospitals, food pantries, schools and more! Overall GoGo squeeZ has donated more than $1.3 million worth of applesauce to almost 500 organizations across the U.S. Move for Hunger, is a nonprofit organization that has created a sustainable way to reduce food waste and fight hunger with their mobilized network of moving, relocation, and multifamily industries throughout the country. In Chicagoland alone, donations have gone out to over 40 plus organizations already with more area drops coming.

While this doesn't really tell the story, I have attached a few pictures, especially those from health care workers saying this is what is keeping them moving from all of this. We hope this inspires individuals to think out of the box and to partner with others that may seem SMALL but are making a BIG impact for people across the U.S.

Keep sharing the hope, beauty, and love we are capable of in America!

Be safe, be well,
