Geneva Concours d'Elegance canceled; annual car show to return in August 2021

The Geneva Concours d'Elegance, one of the Midwest's premier antique, classic, and special interest automobile shows, has been canceled for this year.

Originally scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 23, on the streets of historic downtown Geneva, Illinois, planners are already looking forward to conducting the show next year.

According to director John Barrett, "As we navigate through the ongoing health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Directors of the Geneva Concours d'Elegance have arrived at the difficult decision to cancel our event this year. We realize that this cancellation will be a big disappointment to many of us, however the health and welfare of our Concours spectators, volunteers, sponsors, merchants, exhibitors, and the City of Geneva remains our top priority. We are confident we are doing the right thing."

The next Geneva Concours d'Elegance will take place on Sunday, Aug. 22,2021.

They will celebrate the features as planned for this year and once again showcase the styling, engineering, and cultural significance of the automobile. The beneficiary of the 2021 event will remain LivingWell Cancer Resource Center, now a part of Northwestern Medicine.

"This would have been the 16th annual show. Thank you to all of those who have made the Concours a noteworthy event," Barrett said. For more information, please visit the website at www.genevaconcours.net.
