McHenry County Master Gardeners offer virtual advice

As the weather warms, it's time to get out there and work in the yard and garden. The University of Illinois Extension McHenry County Master Gardeners can help.

In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control, Illinois Department of Public Health and U of I recommendations, local office hours and in-person programming is suspended. The team and volunteers are working remotely.

So, if you have a gardening question, or need a plant, insect or disease identified, you can email uiemg-mchenry@illinois.edu and a trained Extension Master Gardener will answer your questions at no cost.

By emailing uiemg-mchenry@illinois.edu, you can ask questions about vegetables, flowers, trees, shrubs, lawns, insects, landscaping, and composting. You can also attach photos of the plants, insects or situations you want to learn more about.

Extension Master Gardeners can provide advice, identification, websites and suggestions for insect and disease control.

The University of Illinois Extension McHenry County Master Gardeners consist of about 130 volunteers.

The mission of an Extension Master Gardener is to share unbiased, reliable, research-based information with home landscapers and gardeners, as well as to encourage people to enjoy gardening and vegetable growing.
