Education Fund for Homeless and At-Risk Youth Seeks Donations

The North Cook Intermediate Service Center/Regional Office of Education #5 in Des Plaines serves as the McKinney-Vento Regional Liaison for homeless children and at-risk youth in suburban Cook County. North Cook Intermediate Service Center (North Cook ISC) seeks donations to help stabilize our homeless families and at-risk youth with assistance for their emergency needs. The coronavirus has added more complications for our families. We are able to assist with educational needs, but there are many times that families have emergencies that we are unable to help with due to our grant fund restrictions, especially during this pandemic.

Donations will go to help pay for families' emergency needs. This may be in the way of a temporary motel room, an essential car repair, bedding, or other necessities. Needs are handled on a case-by-case basis and emergency requests are referred to North Cook ISC through the 39 school districts we serve in North Cook County or other homeless agencies that work with North Cook ISC.

There are no administrative costs for this program and 100% of donations will go to those families that need emergency assistance. To donate, please go to https://www.ncisc.org/Page/2154. For further information, contact Dr. Tom Bookler at tbookler@ncisc.org.
