Habitat for Humanity Lake County donates full body suits to area hospitals

Habitat for Humanity Lake County again donated personal protective equipment to assist Lake County health care providers on the front line fighting COVID-19.

On Tuesday, March 31, the Lake County Habitat donated over 500 3M PPE bodysuits to two Lake County hospitals as we continue to fight the COVID-19 outbreak.

After making an appeal to other nonmedical businesses to search their warehouses and storage areas, the Habitat for Humanity Gurnee ReStore manager Tim Ammons identified Habitat had over 500 of these full-body protective suits. This PPE is being delivered to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan and Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Vista immediately responded to this donation: "Thank you again for your wonderful donations. I will have you know, your donations went into immediate use, as the items were distributed in the nick of time. As items came in, ER was at ZERO for bodysuits. We sincerely appreciate your contribution and we are thankful for your commitment to community, person and those in need. Thank you."

Habitat for Humanity Lake County Executive Director Debbie Murphy stated that we wanted to donate these full-body suits to two area hospitals to support front-line medial personal during this health care crisis. "Habitat for Humanity Lake County donating this Personal Protective Equipment to local area medical providers where this equipment is needed today," Murphy said. "We again encourage local area businesses to search their warehouses, storage areas and work spaces for supplies and equipment that will be used to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. We are honored to support local area hospitals and first responders."
