Association for Individual Development closes Community Day Services Programs
The Association for Individual Development (AID) cares deeply about our clients and staff! In order to ensure that we are able to meet our clients' core needs for food, shelter and medication and to reduce the potential for transmission of germs, for the week of March 16-20, 2020 all Community Day Services (CDS) Programs will be closed (the O'Shea Center in Elgin, Yorkville, all STARS programs, Batavia Center and the Thompson and Keeler Centers in Aurora).
Community clients not residing in AID CILAs will be expected to stay at their own homes. AID Residential clients will remain at AID Residential locations.
Our highest priority is ensuring the safety of our clients and staff, so AID sites will implement an enhanced screening process for any visitors presenting at AID locations. The Enhanced Screening Process will include the completion of a Visitor Screening Questionnaire and the completion of a body temperature taken using no contact thermometer.
AID leadership will reevaluate the situation on Friday, March 20th and decide whether Community Day Services (CDS) are able to re-open or remain closed for the next week.
Thank you for your patience and assistance during this difficult situation!
