Power restored in Geneva west side power outage

Update: Power restored as of 11:15 a.m.

The Geneva Public Works Department is responding to a power outage impacting about 900 customers on the city's west side.

The outage started around 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 13. The general outage area includes Randall Road north of Kaneville Road to State Street (Route 38), which includes the Williamsburg subdivision.

The Public Works Department believes an accident involving a car striking electric equipment at State Street and Williamsburg Avenue triggered the loss of service. The Geneva police, fire and public works departments are at the scene.

There is no estimated time for restoration.

Updates will be posted when more information is made available.
