Nothing But Treble celebrates spring with 'A Bouquet of Song' April 25

Nothing But Treble, Elgin's premier women's choral ensemble, invites you to welcome the spring season with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, 783 W. Highland Ave. in Elgin.

The concert will feature music in a variety of styles.

Works by two renowned American composers Gwyneth Walker and Alice Parker will be featured, as well as Latin and African American pieces.

A touch of the 1940s, folk, and a contemporary madrigal round out this dazzling "bouquet" of songs.

Founding artistic director Rosalind Zager has moved away but Nothing But Treble is happy to announce that its current director is Kathi Bernhard.

Bernhard is a retired high school choir director and is currently an adjunct voice instructor at Elgin Community College.

Suggested donation for the concert is $10, $5 for children and students.

New singers are invited to join the group in the fall. Nothing But Treble rehearses at the Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren on Mondays from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
