FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF LAKE FOREST'S

RUMMAGE SALE CELEBRATES ITS 70TH ANNIVERSARY

Lake Forest, IL - February 25, 2020 - May 2, 2020 marks the 70th anniversary of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest's Spring Rummage Sale. Since its inception in 1950, the sale has raised over $6.5 million dollars for the church's mission partners. Annually, the sale raises 30% of the overall mission budget for First Presbyterian Church, and people from all over come to volunteer and purchase items.

In 1950, rummage sales were very common. In 2020, rummage sales have become exceedingly rare. First Presbyterian Church's Rummage Sale is one of the premier rummage sales in Chicago, with over 20 different departments including finer men's, women's and children's clothes, china, garden, sporting goods, and furniture. Rummage is a ministry that requires many hands, much organization, and continued coordination. Each year, the church's Rummage ministry builds on what their amazing predecessors have done, and figure out how to better serve their clients and mission partners.

Available to everyone, by giving a four hour commitment to set up departments, work a shift on sale day or help with clean-up, workers earn early shopping privileges and gain access to sale merchandise before the doors open on Saturday, May 2. If you are interested in volunteering for the sale, you can go to firstchurchlf.org/rummagevolunteer.

First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest is located at the corner of Deerpath and Sheridan Roads in Lake Forest. For more information, check out the church's website, firstchurchlf.org, or contact the church at 847-234-6250 and ask to be directed to the Rummage department.
