Northwestern Mutual-Chicago donates $4K to Ronald McDonald House Charities

Northwestern Mutual-Chicago, through the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, is supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana with a $4,000 donation.

The grant will help fund over 45 nights at the Ronald McDonald House for families whose children are receiving treatment at nearby Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.

"A focus of our community outreach initiative has been to create opportunities for high-impact purposeful giving and volunteering," said Krystle Reniguntala, associate director of client relations, Northwestern Mutual-Chicago. "The energy of our team members and the financial support of the Northwestern Mutual Foundation has made it possible for us to help fulfill Ronald McDonald House's mission of keeping families close."

Since 2015, the local financial planning firm, which has offices in downtown Chicago, Deerfield, Oak Brook and Rosemont, has formed a strong partnership with the local Ronald McDonald House Charities chapter as part of its Childhood Cancer Philanthropic Impact Initiative.

Over the years, team members have volunteered as part of Meals from the Heart, Cookies from the Heart and Family Activity Nights. The firm also has run supplies drives to fulfill the House Wish List.

Recently the team donated more than 40 personal toiletry kits for guests staying at the House.

In addition to Reniguntala, who leads the outreach program with the charity, committee members include Ellen Stenner, Kara Pachut, Margot Iberle, Tara O'Dea, Andrea Cho, Conor O'Leary and Katie Crittenbergevr.

Launched in 2012, Northwestern Mutual's Childhood Cancer Program is committed to finding cures, providing family and patient support and aiding those who struggle with the long-term effects of treatment. With the help of employees and financial advisors nationwide, the program has contributed more than $25 million and has helped fund over 330,000 hours of research.
