Wauconda Woman's Club wins 'Chamber Cares' award

The Wauconda Woman's Club has announced that it won the Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce "Chamber Cares" award Jan. 17.

This award is for a not-for-profit entity that provides exceptional support and leadership for citizens of the Wauconda Area concerning health, financial, emotional and enhancing the general quality of lives.

This not-for-profit entity gives continuously to the betterment of our communities. The nominee must be a chamber member and this award can only be received once.

The Wauconda Woman's Club celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2019. The WWC is a Wauconda-based charitable service organization. Each year the WWC donates locally to Wauconda High School Scholarships, the Wauconda-Island Lake Food Pantry, the Wauconda Township Thanksgiving and Christmas programs, the Wauconda Park District, the Wauconda Fireworks and many other local and national organizations.

The club is a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, an international organization of more than 80,000 members which is a unifying force bringing together local women's clubs.
