CLC's February events include Black History Month lectures, Salute to Gospel concert, STEM Day for Girls

From theatrical performances to a STEM for Girls Day, the College of Lake County (CLC) presents more than 20 events open to the community in February. Ongoing through Feb. 21: Members Art Exhibition, Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art. The exhibition features a diverse collection of works by member artists. For details, visit www.clcillinois.edu/gallery.

Tuesday, Feb. 4: Criminal justice career fair, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Student Street. Law enforcement agencies from Lake County and beyond will discuss career opportunities.

Wednesday, Feb. 5: Dental hygiene career information session, noon-1 p.m., Lakeshore (Waukegan) Campus' Dental Materials Lab N135, 111 N. Genesee St.

Thursday, Feb. 6: "I Have A Dream" presentation, 9:30 -10:30 a.m., 11 a.m-noon, Mainstage Theatre (Room P107). Experience a compelling dramatization of the life and times of acclaimed civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Suitable for Grades 2+.

Thursday, Feb. 6: Nursing career information session, 2-3:30 p.m., Rooms T326-328.

Friday, Feb. 7: International Film "Long Day's Journey Into Night," 7 p.m., Room C105. In this unrated Chinese drama from 2018, a low-level criminal returns home after years of hiding out, crossing paths with his lost love as well as the new gangsters in her life. Admission is free.

Saturday, Feb. 8: Maker Week Build Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Baxter Innovation Lab, Room T121. Individuals, clubs or teams are welcome to use the lab for meeting, brainstorming and fabricating to prepare for the Lake County Maker Week April 18-25. Prior registration is required through CLC's Personal Enrichment Department.

Tuesday, Feb. 11: Lake County Summit on Restorative Justice, 8:30 a.m-4 p.m. Learn how restorative justice practices can help Lake County at this free Summit on Restorative Justice.

Tuesday, Feb. 11: Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy career information session, 9-10 a.m., Room N211, Lakeshore Campus, 33 N. Genesee St., Waukegan.

Sunday, Feb. 16: Lula Washington Dance Theatre, 7 p.m., Mainstage Theatre, James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts. Tuesday, Feb. 25: February meeting for the CLC Board of Trustees, 6-10 p.m., Board Room C213.

Friday-Saturday, Feb. 28-29: "As You Like It," 7:30 p.m., Studio Theatre, James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts. Directed by Craig Rich, chair of CLC's theatre department, the classic Shakespearean comedy also takes place March 1, 5, 6 and 7. Saturday, Feb. 29, 36th Annual Salute to Gospel Music Concert, 7 p.m., Genesee Theatre, 203 N. Genesee St., Waukegan. Presented by CLC's Lakeshore Campus, this year's event features performer Bishop Hezekiah Walker, a multi-GRAMMY® Award-winning, newly inducted Gospel Music Hall of Famer and the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir.
