District 62 Kindergarten registration set for Feb. 4

Des Plaines Community Consolidated School District 62 will hold kindergarten registration for the 2020-2021 school year from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at all elementary schools.

Registering 2020-2021 Kindergarten students at this time helps District 62 plan ahead and make the appropriate accommodations for all incoming students.

Parents should go to their neighborhood school to register their child. Kindergarten students who will enter District 62 for the 2020-2021 school year must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020.

Iroquois Community School will not be a site for kindergarten registration this year as the school transitions to an online enrollment platform next month.

To register, parents or guardians must bring the child's original birth certificate and proof of residence in District 62. Parents can apply to the county clerk in the county where their child was born to receive a copy of the birth certificate. Registration forms, immunization requirements, and other materials will be distributed at each school. Registration materials will not be mailed.

Parents may also register their children for Extended Day Kindergarten during kindergarten registration. Staff members will be available at each registration site. For information about the Extended Day Kindergarten Program, visit the Early Learning Center website, http://westerholdelc.d62.org, or call (847) 824-1065.
