Dr. Dean Nicholas Installed as 2020 President-Elect of Chicago Dental Society

Bringing more than three decades of experience practicing general dentistry, Dr. Dean Nicholas (Dr. Dino) was sworn in as 2020 President-Elect of the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) at a ceremony held on Sunday, November 17, at the Four Seasons Hotel. Dr. Nicholas previously served as Secretary, Vice President and Treasurer of CDS.

As President-Elect, Dr. Nicholas will lend his talents to the 155th Midwinter Meeting, taking place February 20-22, 2020, at McCormick Place West. The Midwinter Meeting is CDS' annual scientific meeting and one of the largest exhibitions of dental products and professional dentistry in North America - attracting nearly 30,000 attendees and generating more than $30 million for the local economy in 2019. He will also direct planning for the next Midwinter Meeting in 2021.

Dr. Nicholas earned his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1986. In addition to his leadership role with the Chicago Dental Society, he has served in numerous capacities with the American Dental Association, currently serving on the ADA Audit Committee. Dr. Nicholas has also previously served as President of the Hellenic-American Dental Society, the West Suburban Branch of CDS and the Illinois State Dental Society.

Dr. Dino, as he is commonly referred to, started in private practice in Villa Park following graduation in 1986. He transitioned his current private practice to Lombard at Dr. Dino's Dental Oasis for the last 15 years. Dr. Dino's wife Celeste has also worked in the office for over 25 years, working together to provide patients with exceptional dental treatment. On most days, Mickey and Buddy, their Maltese fur babies, are in the office to provide comfort to patients.

In his free time, Dr. Dino enjoys spending time with his many nieces and nephews. He is a diehard Cubs fan, loves reality TV and aspires to become a TV game show host one day!

Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local society of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,400 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
