Barrington Stars hit the dance floor to support BACOA

It's the winter's hottest night - the Barrington Area Council on Aging's third annual "Dancing with the Barrington Stars."

Six of Barrington's most intriguing community and business leaders will show off their smoothest steps while raising money to support BACOA's programs and services for older adults, caregivers and families.

The action kicks off from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Stonegate Conference & Banquet Centre, 2401 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates. Attendees at the event can cheer on the contestants and donate to support their favorite dancer. Pledges can also be made online.

This year's Stars include: Josie Croll, who acts, directs and produces for Parker Playhouse; the Rev. Zina Jacque, pastor of Community Church of Barrington; Tiffany Marshall, Barrington real estate professional; Steve McWilliams, principal of Barrington High School; George Peirce, longtime BACOA volunteer; and Matt Warman, co-owner of Warman Construction in Barrington.

Tickets are $125 or $1,200 for a table of 10. Cost includes a glass of champagne, passed appetizers, a plated dinner, games, raffles and the dance performances. Pledges made before, during and after their performance will determine the winners.

Judges may decide the best dancer, but the person who brings in the most pledges will be named champion.

For details, to order tickets or make a pledge, visit www.bacoa.org or call (847) 381-5030.

The Barrington Area Council on Aging promotes vibrant, healthy aging by providing activities, education, and support to older adults, families and caregivers. Established in 1985, BACOA serves approximately 1,100 clients annually in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago.
