Aurora Methodists to celebrate MLK Day this weekend

Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora will celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday with in-church and community-service activities.

On Sunday, Jan. 19, after the 11 a.m. worship, Club 345 will host hands-on activities in the church parlor to teach about MLK, Jr., and how people can love others through what he taught. Club 345 is a group for third- through fifth-graders.

Lunch will be provided.

On Monday, Jan. 20, Wesley UMC youth will volunteer during Aurora's MLK Day of Service from 11 a.m. to noon at SciTech Hands-On Museum in Aurora. Projects will include light cleaning. Volunteers will receive awards at the annual MLK ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora.
