Brian E. Wagner Scholarship Fund's Bags For Wags Tournament marks 10th year

The Brian E. Wagner Scholarship Fund invites all to attend the 10th annual Bags for Wags Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 1.

The charitable event will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. at Visitation's Valentino Center, 851 S. York Road in Elmhurst.

Participants, age 16 or older, are welcome to play in the bean bags competition.

Top teams will receive cash prizes!

Celebrate and socialize with the community for a worthy cause the night prior to the football bowl game.

Raffle prizes and a silent auction will be awarded to lucky attendees.

Items will include gift cards from popular restaurants/retail stores, merchandise/memorabilia from Chicago sports teams and admission to hot spots all around town.

Space is limited and event will likely sell out.

All proceeds will benefit the Brian E. Wagner Scholarship Fund, which was created in memory of Brian Edwin Wagner whose untimely passing came at age 16 in 1993. He was the fatal passenger in a tragic auto accident.

Through the organization's effort, scholarship funds are being raised to recognize local high school students. Finalists will be leaders in the community who have committed themselves to volunteer programs that make a positive impact in their lives and the lives of others.

The Brian E. Wagner Scholarship Fund Committee offers their gratitude to the support of local communities and establishments who continue to open doors for young scholars who are focused on making a difference in society.

Brian's legacy continues to shine forth through their spirit and tenacity. Students who have received the scholarship are honored for their: ambition, determination and resilience.

Each recipient proudly accepts the torch that was lit in Brian's name and inspires others to pursue long term endeavors in his memory.

The Brian E. Wagner Scholarship Fund has bestowed nearly $100,000 toward college tuition costs thus far and eagerly awaits the opportunity to reviewing this year's applications.

The deadline to submit is Saturday, Feb. 29.
