Arlington Heights Fire Department offers CPR courses

Register now for the a Heartsaver CPR course Monday, Jan. 20, hosted by the Arlington Heights Fire Department.

The course is for the lay responder and it teaches recognition and emergency resuscitation techniques for adult heart attack and stroke; injury and cardiac arrest prevention; treatment of cardiac emergencies in adults and infants; and choking in adults and infants.

This course does not cover cardiac emergencies or choking in children.

A course completion card from the American Heart Association will be issued to participants who have successfully completed the CPR course objectives and practical testing. To register for the class, call (847) 368-5450.

The Jan. 20 class is scheduled from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in the Training Room at the Arlington Heights Fire Department Administration Building, 1150 N. Arlington Heights Road. The cost is $20 per person for an Arlington Heights resident and $50 per person for nonresidents, which includes textbook and CPR card.

Due to scheduling of personnel and classroom, registration fees are nonrefundable. In the event a class is canceled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.

Other courses scheduled for 2020 are Monday, March 2; Monday, May 4; Monday, July 6; Monday, Sept. 28; and Monday, Nov. 9.
