Schweikher House to host Dec. 19 concert

The Schweikher House Preservation Trust invites the public to an exclusive a cappella concert from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Schweikher House at 645 S. Meacham Road in Schaumburg.

Jillian Krickl, Kathryn Michalowski, Stephen Boyer and Dan Reilly from the prestigious Schola Cantorum at Holy Cathedral in Chicago will perform "Gartenleider," a rarely performed choral work by Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, and "Glow" by Eric Whitacre.

The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the American Institute of Architects top 200 architectural sites in Illinois.
