Illinois Brass Band to present 'Holiday Classics' family concert Dec. 21

The Illinois Brass Band, under the direction of Music Director Stephen Squires, presents their annual "Holiday Classics" family Christmas concert.

On Saturday, Dec. 21, the band will be returning for the sixth year to the sanctuary of Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Ave. in St. Charles. The concert will begin at 5 p.m.

This has become an annual holiday tradition for many families.

The performance will consist of Christmas music from around the world, with familiar songs both sacred and secular.

Amy Keipert will be the guest vocalist singing familiar holiday classics and leading the popular sing along. In addition to her duties as director of choirs at McCracken Middle School in Skokie, Keipert is the associate conductor and soprano section leader of the Chicago Chamber Choir.

The performance will feature a newly commissioned sing along as adapted for brass band by Andrew Wainwright, artistic adviser to the Illinois Brass Band.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased in advance at illinoisbrassband.org or at the door on the day of the performance.

When ordering online, go to the performance page and follow the ticket purchase instructions. Preordered tickets will be available at the will-call table.

Tickets are $12 or $6 for children and students, age 18 or younger. Family pricing is also available at $30 for two adults and up to four children, age 18 or younger.

Founded in 1991, the Illinois Brass Band is in its 28th year of bringing high quality brass band music to audiences throughout the greater metropolitan area. The Illinois Brass Band is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization and is supported in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
