Batavia Chamber celebrates ribbon-cutting for Red Hive Market

The Batavia Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Red Hive Market, 6 W. Wilson St., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Mayor Jeffery Schielke presided over the celebration with owners Bridget Johnson and Thomas Freeman.

Among the large group of well-wishers were Batavia Chamber President Margaret Perreault, Chamber Communications and Membership Coordinator Shirley Mott, Batavia MainStreet Interim Executive Director Jamie Saam, and Beth Walker, sponsorship coordinator for Batavia MainStreet.

Others attending included chamber ambassadors and members, Red Hive Market vendors, fellow downtown business owners and of course, shoppers.

Shop Red Hive Market for vintage, shabby chic, industrial, painted, recycled and upcycled treasures for the home. While most items are for the home, jewelry and softgoods made by local artisans are available as well. Do-it-yourselfers can purchase Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint and other supplies here, too.

The shop is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Look for photos and information about upcoming make-it classes for adults and children at www.facebook.com/RedHiveMarket/. For information, call (630) 326-9016.
