Wheeling Township Supports Local Agencies Making a Difference

Wheeling Township provides vital services to its residents, ranging from transportation and home delivered meals for seniors and people with disabilities, to help with heating bills and access to an outstanding food pantry. What some people may not know is that the Township also provides funding each year to a wide range of human service agencies that serve in-need residents in a variety of other ways.

"Year after year, Wheeling Township comes to the assistance of residents in need," said Wheeling Township Supervisor Kathleen Penner. "Supporting them during times of crisis, or helping them to remain independent, secure and connected to the community is our number one goal."

Funding provided by the Township helps to make services provided by these organizations more attainable, so that they can be available on a low, sliding-scale, or no-cost basis.

"We are proud to provide financial support to high-quality, local human service organizations that improve the quality of life for children, families, seniors and people with disabilities," Penner said. "This effort helps to build a stronger community for all of us."
