Lovell Federal Health Care Center to host Whole HealthTown Hall Dec. 17

NORTH CHICAGO, Ill. - All are invited to the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center's Whole Health Town Hall on Tuesday, Dec. 17 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the main hospital in North Chicago, with additional access by phone offered through Tele Town Hall.

The town hall is an opportunity to learn about VA and TRICARE health care programs and services, and to participate in an interactive question and answer session led by Lovell FHCC's top leaders, Dr. Robert Buckley, director, and Capt. Gregory Thier, commanding officer and deputy director. The forum will highlight the Whole Health focus evolving at Lovell FHCC and at VA facilities nationwide.

"Whole Health programs couple traditional medicine with new health methodologies that equip patients with preventive and wellness skills for the body, mind and soul," said Buckley of the new program, which is beginning its implementation at Lovell FHCC. "With the holidays quickly approaching, it's the ideal time to gift yourself with knowledge about Whole Health resources."

Prior to the town hall, from 9 - 11:30 a.m., Whole Health staff will be in the main hospital's front lobby to provide information about offerings, which include weight control, pain management and smoking cessation programs as well as yoga and Tai Chi classes. Staff and simulators from Lovell FHCC's Simulation Center will also be on-hand.

Officials from the Veterans Benefits Administration and TRICARE will also participate in the town hall to field questions from participants. A VBA representative will be available for one-on-one meetings after the town hall, from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
