Fox Valley Festival Chorus presents 'Sleigh Bells Ring, Are You Listening?'

Bask in the warmth of holiday music as the Fox Valley Festival Chorus presents two performances of its winter concert, "Sleigh Bells Ring, Are You Listening?"

The chorus, under the direction of Mary Beth McCarthy and accompanied by Bonnie Werthmann and the Fox Valley Festival Brass, will sing a selection of sacred and traditional offerings along with melodies guaranteed to enhance the holiday season. A reception will follow each performance.

Providing musical entertainment in the Fox Valley area since 1950, members come from varied backgrounds - from high school students to retirees, and from novice singers to professional musicians.

In addition to presenting concerts locally, the group sang at Carnegie Hall in 2013 and at Lincoln Center in 2015. In 2017, the chorus embarked on a tour of Italy, performing at the Vatican, in addition to churches, basilicas and cathedrals in Venice, Florence and Assisi.

The concerts will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Waubonsee Community College auditorium, Route 47 and Waubonsee Road in Sugar Grove, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Oswego Presbyterian Church, 1976 Route 25, Oswego.

Tickets are $17 for ages 13 to 64 or $12 for ages 65 or older and ages 12 and younger. Tickets can be purchased from chorus members or at the door.
