Enjoy a 'Night of Christmas Music' Dec. 15
It's the holiday season and time for Murna Hansemann's annual Christmas concert.
A "Night of Christmas Music" is set for 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Evangelical Covenant Church, 1565 Larkin Ave. in Elgin. Murna will be performing along with guest artists sopranos Solange Sior and Diva Montell and tenors Jeorge Holmes and Franco Martorana.
Hansemann is an accompanist for several local artists including Diva Montell, Rise Jones and Jeorge Holmes.
Martorana is an Italian tenor and member of "The Other 3 Tenors," who combine an operatic performance with humor.
Jeorge Holmes, a professional vocalist and speaker, has often worked in Christian ministry, including originating Love Elgin Day.
Sior is founder of Fox Valley Lyrical Productions (formerly known as Soiree Lyrique), with a mission to nourish a greater appreciation of the classical vocal arts and to educate through professional performances. She has performed with many organizations in the Midwest and in Canada, including the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Light Opera Works, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, and Elgin Choral Union.
Diva Montell, a professional opera singer and vocal performer, studied opera/vocal performance at the American Conservatory of Music and DePaul University School of Music.
Having a wide vocal range, she performs many music genres, including opera, pop, Broadway and rock.
There will be special music by the Salvation Army Brass Ensemble.
