Chicago Security Doing More Than Patrols

CHICAGO, Il., Nov. 18, 2019 - Crime continues to rise each year, and living in a city like Chicago means civilians, business owners and companies are always wanting to make sure they're secured.

To help aide with the local Chicago Law Enforcement, the Arlington Heights security company, Signal 88 Security, has experienced an increase in incident reports, assisting police to solve serious crimes and reduce delinquent behavior and calls to police.

In the city of Elgin, a security officer from Signal 88 Security, assisted police in identifying a homicide subject. The officer was able to provide body camera footage from his uniform, as well as security reports, which led police to a quick apprehension of two men, who were later charged by police.

"I think it's good to show that private security working with police reduces crime and increases quality of life in our communities," says Joshua Mailey, the security franchise owner.

One way private security can see their services being needed is through the Barrington District of Illinois. In 2019, District 220 elected two proposals encouraging the permit of armed staff in schools, as well as a statewide grant program to help hire school resource officers or other armed security.

After a weekend of 21 different arrests in the River North of Chicago, a guard from a different private security, drew his weapon on a group of men, after being attacked for deterring their unwarranted disturbances. After police got to the scene, they were able to disperse the group, placing some into custody.

These security officers succeeded at keeping a "Peace of Mind" motto, which at Signal 88, officers live by. At Signal 88 Security, guards are trained to help law enforcement in any situation, whether it be making a tourniquet until EMS can arrive or watching a car accident unravel and being the citizen to control the scene for police.

The Chicago based franchise has seen real potential for private security and law enforcement being able to combine their forces within the community.
