Parenting Teens the Love and Logic Way
Looking for practical tools for parenting teens? Parents are invited to attend the "Parenting Teens with Love and Logic" series on Sundays, Jan. 12 and 26, and Feb. 9 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
The series is being held at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 916 E. Central Rd., Arlington Heights. The leader, Marriage and Family Therapist Sheila D. Hynes, MA, LMFT, is a Love and Logic Independent Facilitator.

• Stay calm when teens do incredibly upsetting things
• Set enforceable limits
• Avoid enabling and begin empowering
• Help kids learn from mistakes rather than repeating them
• Learn how to communicate so kids will listen
• Learn how to recognize emotions and use empathy instead of anger.
