Dr. Terri Tiersky Installed as 2020 President of the Chicago Dental Society

With more than 30 years of experience in general dentistry, Dr. Terri Tiersky will serve as President of the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) in 2020. She and the rest of the new Board members were sworn in at a ceremony held on Sunday, November 17, at the Four Seasons Hotel. Dr. Tiersky is only the fourth female president in CDS' 155-year history.

As President, Dr. Tiersky will focus her efforts on membership and engagement. She has also played a prominent role in planning efforts for the 155th Midwinter Meeting, taking place February 20-22, 2020 at McCormick Place West, including selecting the theme of this year's Midwinter Meeting, "KALEIDOSCOPE VIEW 2020," which represents the vibrancy, innovation and ever-evolving nature of the dental profession. The Midwinter Meeting is CDS' annual scientific meeting and one of the largest exhibitions of dental products and professional dentistry in North America - attracting nearly 30,000 attendees and generating more than $30 million for the local economy in 2019.

Dr. Tiersky earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, her dental degree from the Loyola University Chicago School of Dentistry and her Juris Doctor degree from the John Marshall Law School. She has served on numerous committees of the CDS, ISDS and the ADA over the years, including the board of the Chicago Dental Society Foundation, the ISDS Board of Trustees and the ADA Council on Ethics, Bylaws and Judicial Affairs. Dr. Tiersky also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Healthcare Foundation of Highland Park and is a volunteer for the Alpha Omega Holocaust Survivors Oral Health Program and for Donated Dental Services.

Dr. Tiersky lives in Highland Park with her husband, Roland Davidson, and their daughter Devin.

Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local society of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,400 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
