Holiday train display opens Nov. 22

The Kishwaukee Valley & Eakin Creek Train Club will open its traditional Holiday Train Display on Friday, Nov. 22, the Friday before Thanksgiving.

Trains will be running from Friday, Nov. 22, through Sunday, Dec. 29, in the Prairie Lodge Social Lounge, 12880 Del Webb Blvd., Huntley.

Running times will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. On some days, the club will have extended hours dependent on other activities in the Lodge. Also, please note the lodge will be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas and will close at noon on Christmas Eve.

This year's train raffle will feature Lionel Santa Fe Super Chief train sets that include track, engine, railroad cars and transformer. The raffle will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, and winners need not be present. So bring your kids, grandkids, and cameras to spend some time enjoying this holiday tradition.

The Railroad Club is proud to sponsor this holiday event and they invite all Sun City residents, their family and friends, as well as residents of neighboring communities, to this annual tradition. The event is free but they do ask that all children be accompanied by an adult.

Interested patrons can call the club's message center at (847) 669-2392 to learn more details of the Holiday Display or they can check out the Sun City website at sccah.com.
