Goldfish Swim School Mundelein Gives Back to Feed My Starving Children

On November 16, team members of Goldfish Swim School around Chicagoland engaged in a day of community service and team building to give back to the communities that give so much to them. The service day, "Goldfish Gives Back," allowed for various Goldfish Swim School franchises to provide a service or project that helps the local neighborhood and beyond. From beach and park cleaning, to supply drives, "Goldfish Gives Back" is a way for the premier learn-to-swim school to say thanks and make a difference on the local level.

Goldfish Swim School of Mundelein chose Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville as its give back service project. Thirty-seven team members of Goldfish Mundelein worked in the Feed My Starving Children warehouse packing food, weighing, sealing and packaging the boxes, putting stickers on the packages and more. The boxes the Mundelein team packed will feed 64 children for an entire year.

'It was humbling for my team to be able to give back to the community outside of teaching swim lessons and water safety," says Betsy Oskorep, General Manager of Goldfish Mundelein.

Oskorep took the service project a step further and had a fun competition with her staff to see who packed the most boxes.

"I was over the moon at how many team members said they want to come back," Oskorep said. "I am proud of my team and how dedicated their personal time to help others in need."

Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit that provides nutritionally complete meals for malnourished children.
