Local artists support Ella's Friends silent auction

Among the items in a silent auction being held by Ella's Friends at the Ella Johnson Memorial Library in Hampshire are several paintings by renowned local artist Alyce Van Acker.

Also included in the auction are a chainsaw sculpture of an owl, several quilts, a raw edge table, pottery bowls and an array of paintings and photographs, donated by local artists.

The items are on display and available for bidding until 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the library, 109 S. State St. in Hampshire.

Funds raised by this auction and other Ella's Friends activities go to purchase items and fund programs not in the regular library budget.

The next Ella's Friends event will be the annual Festival of Chocolate which will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9.

Any of these items would make great Christmas gifts and help to support the library at the same time.

Ella's Friends hold their regular meetings on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.
