The Kiwanis Club of Lindenhurst/The Lakes recently celebrated its 25th anniversary as a club.

Throughout the past 25 years, Kiwanis Club of Lindenhurst/The Lakes has been quite active in the community through service projects and fundraisers. The club has provided nearly $38,000 in scholarships to high school students, started a Key Club at Lakes High School, created a Kiwanis Kommunity Garden, and raised $12,750 for the Eliminate Project for the Kiwanis International Foundation.

Club members stay active supporting projects for area nonprofits every year, such as the park district, Allendale and Hastings Lake YMCA.

The club is proud to have received the "Distinguished Club" award eight times.

The Kiwanis Club of Lindenhurst/The Lakes meets twice per month at the Village at Victory Lakes. New members are always welcome.
