Robert Crown School teachers shake things up at McDonald's!

Wauconda | RobertCrown School students gave their teachers an A-plus on their fundraising effortsto support local education and funds for the general PTO fund to supporttechnology and the classrooms. Twenty-three fun-lovingteachers, two amazing Assistant Principals, and the school Principal, Karrie Diolfrom Robert Crown School volunteered on Thursday, November 14th, at the WaucondaMcDonald's located on 511 W. Liberty St., where they served students and theirfamilies in a fundraiser for their school. Principal Diol and AssistantPrincipals, Mrs. Stonel and Mr. Seaholm of Robert Crown, were at the event talkingwith the families and supporting their staff. The proceeds from thesale of 260 cookies went directly to benefit technology and items for theclassrooms. Teachers Guryn, Price, Monney, Torossy, Dryden, and Sharkey weresome of the teachers that helped to sell the cookies. The Wauconda communityhas an amazing network of support for their schools, McDonald's was busy theentire evening! Nondas Plesiotis, Owner/Operatorof the Wauconda McDonald's, was delighted to participate in this worthy causefor education and the community. "McTeacher's Night is part of McDonald's larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community." Plesiotis said. "We are proud to serve the families of the Wauconda community through the McTeacher's Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community." Plesiotis donated a case of cookies to the school for sale at the event. Inspired by the success of McTeacher's Night, Plesiotis has set his sights on partnering with other schools in the area. "The teachers and families who supported this event are the fabric that strengthens our community."Plesiotis said. A special thank you to Cara Mohr and Cara Silverman who organized the entire event.
