Scholarship Assistance Fund hosts annual golf outing to raise money for scholarships

Scholarship Assistance Fund (SAF) Dollars for Scholars hosted its annual golf outing on October 7 at Rolling Green Country Club. Golfers were treated to beautiful weather, 18 holes of golf with fun, activities and contests throughout the course, followed by dinner in the clubhouse.

The evening concluded with the much anticipated drawing of the Ultimate Big Game Experience Raffle, sponsored by Charlie Priester of Priester Aviation. Supporters had the opportunity to buy $100 raffle tickets for the chance to win a day trip in a private jet for up to 8 people to any game or golf course of their choice within 350 miles of Chicago Executive Airport. No one was happier than Brian Barrett from North Rock Partners, who made a last minute decision to purchase one raffle ticket during dinner. His ticket was among the last few to be placed in the drum with the other 246 tickets sold. Prospect Heights Mayor Nick Helmer drew the winning ticket while Mount Prospect Mayor Arlene Juracek read Barrett's name.

As their sole annual fundraiser, 100% of all proceeds from this successful event funds SAF scholarships awarded to students who reside in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Mt. Prospect, Prospect Heights, and Wheeling. Applications are now open for multiple academic scholarships and one vocational/trade school scholarship, all worth $2,500. Current high school seniors and vocational or college undergraduates who will be attending a post-high school educational institution in the 2020-21 school year should consider applying. All applications must be completed and submitted by February 14, 2020. Visit www.safdollarsforscholars.org for more information about eligibility, requirements, and to start your online application.
